"Web as Platform" Has Been Replaced By “Cloud Computing“

Web 2.0 Completes Five Years

The first Web 2.0 conference was held October 5-7, 2004 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.
A lot has happened in the last five years like the theme “Web as Platform” as a terminology is dead and has been replaced by “Cloud Computing“.

In this year’s hype cycle for emerging technologies, Gartner has positioned Web 2.0 under “Climbing the Slope of Enlightenment” and expects it to go main stream in less than 2 years.
